Congressman Lowenthal Applauds Climate Change Action By U.S., Canada, West Coast States

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Alan Lowenthal on Monday released the following statement regarding the signing of the Pacific Coast Action Plan on Climate and Energy by the leaders of British Columbia, California, Oregon and Washington, committing their governments, and a region that represents the world's fifth largest economy, to a comprehensive and far-reaching strategic alignment to combat climate change and promote clean energy.

"For more than 20 years I have fought to clean up the environment with sensible government solutions that allow both the environment and the economy to thrive. I applaud the Governors of California, Oregon and Washington and the Premier of British Columbia for having the courage to take a stand and the fortitude to take action. Our future is at stake.
