On Friday, April 24, Congressman Lowenthal hosted the awards reception for the 47th District's 2015 Congressional Art Competition. More than 120 students, family and teachers attended the annual arts event at the Long Beach Museum of Art.

Each spring, a nation-wide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The annual event is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.

The theme of the competition this year is "Through The Eyes Of An Artist."
